Welcome to the revival of WRITELondon!
WRITELondon started as an initiative in 2008. Travelling in a small group of writing enthusiasts around the capital on foot and sometimes on public transport, we used a variety of different spaces as inspiration for creative writing exercises. From theatres to changing rooms, hospitals and museums, cafes and canals, we roamed from site to site and wrote our hearts out.
Now, after a lengthy break, I have decided it is time to bring WRITELondoners back to the streets of the town. I invite you to join me, armed with notepads and people-watching skills, stopping from time to time for a cup of tea.
WRITELondons do not have a requirement in terms of writing experience. If you want a structured outlet for creativity, want some generating tasks for your work, or just want to practise taking inspiration from different spaces then this might be the thing for you.
I can't wait to meet, roam and write with you all!

Through encouragement and gentle facilitation, WRITELondon will bring out the writing in you that you may not have known was there. You might create a lonely hearts ad for a stranger on the tube; you might invent a secret world for behind a lit window: each workshop holds a set of surprises. The workshops are also good for getting out and about and getting a little gentle exercise.
Drawing from the successes and lessons of the old series, the new set of WRITELondon workshops include intermittent walking, regular sitting down, and comfort breaks, and have bad-weather plans woven in, as, well, it's London.
I will be running WRITELondons on Sundays in September and early October, before it gets too cold, and bring them back again in the spring. If you just want to try out a session, come to one of the taster workshops on Sunday 6th September. It's free- but I will need your feedback so that I can work out how to make sessions better. If you want to book any of the sessions, please follow the links below.
